Secure storage for hospital patients and their families
Safekeeping by TBH brings professional, insured bag storage to hospital environments. When a patient is admitted, their belongings shouldn't be a worry. We operate dedicated storage desks at partner hospitals — staffed, equipped, and managed entirely by TBH.
How Safekeeping works
Admission
When a patient is admitted, their belongings are logged, sealed in a tamper-evident bag, and assigned a numbered seal. No patient name is recorded by TBH.
Secure storage
Bags are held in a secure area provided by the hospital. TBH staff manage the storage desk during hospital admissions hours.
Verification
Retrieval is verified by numbered seal and contact number. No name, no medical record, no clinical information is ever collected or stored by TBH.
Collection
Patient or authorized family member presents the seal number and collects their belongings. No bag is ever withheld for non-payment.
A concession model — not a vendor contract
Safekeeping operates as a TBH-run concession at partner hospitals — the same commercial structure as a hospital café or car park operator. The hospital provides desk space and a secure storage area. TBH provides staff, equipment, and operations. The hospital receives 40% of revenue collected, paid monthly. No purchase orders, no subscription fees, no debt collection — money flows from TBH to the hospital, never the reverse.
Four commitments we never compromise
No bag ever withheld
Patients who cannot pay always receive their belongings. Fee waivers are available at any time — no questions asked.
No patient name collected
TBH identifies bags by numbered seal and contact number only. No patient name, medical record, or clinical information is ever collected.
Minimal data, briefly held
Contact numbers collected for retrieval verification only. Retained for 30 days post-retrieval and never shared with third parties.
Every bag weighed
Every bag is weighed at intake and retrieval. Any discrepancy is flagged and investigated. Contents are protected from the moment they're checked in.
What hospitals ask first
Does TBH handle patient data?
No — TBH does not collect patient names, medical records, or clinical information. We collect only a contact number for retrieval verification, retained for 30 days post-retrieval. TBH is not a HIPAA Business Associate.
What does the hospital need to provide?
A desk and a secure storage area. No construction, no equipment purchase, no staff involvement. TBH supplies everything else — staff, bags, seals, scales, signage, and payment infrastructure.
How does the revenue share work?
The hospital receives 40% of fees collected from patients, paid monthly with a full reconciliation report. TBH collects the fees and remits the hospital's share — the hospital is never invoiced and never a debtor.
What if a patient cannot pay?
No bag is ever withheld for non-payment. TBH staff and hospital admissions staff both have discretion to waive the fee. Compassion waivers are tracked in monthly reconciliation reports.
