Focus on the competition. We'll handle your gear.
Secure, insured storage for athletes, teams, coaches and sports-event participants — before, during and after the game. TBH operates the desk. Your organisation, sponsor, or event covers the cost. Participants store for free.
The opportunity
Your participants already want this. TBH gives you a way to offer it.
Athletes, coaches and event participants arrive at venues with more than they can carry onto a course, court or field — and they have nowhere safe to leave it. Venues that solve this earn participant loyalty, reduce complaints and remove the operational burden of informal storage from their own staff. TBH operates the desk, supplies the staff, holds the insurance, and handles every custody record. You direct participants to the desk. That's your role.
There is also a risk dimension. Where an operator takes physical possession of a guest's property — through a locker, a bag room or a volunteer gear check — a duty of care arises regardless of whether a formal agreement exists. Courts have held that a disclaimer sign does not extinguish that duty. The photograph and written record at intake is what establishes both the existence and the condition of property at the time of bailment. TBH provides that record. Most existing venue arrangements do not.
"Sport logistics deals with storage and transportation issues in sport organisations. Mistakes are highly visible — bringing the wrong gear, or losing it, leads to exclusion, penalties, or an impression of unprofessionalism."
Review of Managerial Science, 2025 — sport logistics research across national federationsWhat TBH provides
Three storage services. One documented custody standard.
Every item photographed at intake, logged, sealed, and released only against a PIN. The same chain of custody whether it's a backpack or a team kit trunk.
Athlete Storage
Personal bags, clothing, shoes and permitted equipment for individual athletes, coaches, officials and spectators. Available before and during the event. Participants store for free — the organiser or sponsor covers the cost.
Team Equipment Storage
Temporary storage and inventory tracking for team kits, spare equipment and event supplies between matches, rounds or sessions. Billed as a flat team fee or event contract — not per item.
Spectator & Fan Storage
Storage for spectators and fans subject to clear-bag policies, prohibited-item rules, or venue access restrictions. TBH operates a staffed, insured desk outside the security perimeter.
Who TBH serves at a sports venue
Everyone at the venue who isn't on the field.
Storage demand at sports events isn't limited to competitors. TBH covers the full venue population.
Personal belongings, change of clothes and permitted equipment while competing. Particularly useful across multiple events or long all-day sessions.
Spare kits, training equipment and team luggage between matches. TBH can handle team bookings as a single flat arrangement.
Runners, triathletes, cyclists and adventure-race participants needing secure gear drop before the start and collection after finishing.
Swimmers, gymnasts, volleyball and basketball players competing across multiple rounds over many hours — moving between warm-up areas, competition spaces and spectator seating.
Personal bags, clothing and permitted work equipment during long shifts — particularly where staff rooms are shared, limited or unavailable.
Fans subject to bag restrictions or clear-bag policies, or simply wanting to move freely through the venue without carrying everything they arrived with.
Sports covered
If participants bring gear, TBH can store it.
TBH Sports Storage operates across disciplines. The common thread: participants arrive with more than they can carry onto a course, court or field — and the venue has no documented place for it.
Not listed? Get in touch — if there's gear and a venue, TBH can operate there.
Where we operate
Four venue types. One documented custody standard across all of them.
Every one of these venues manages storage informally today. TBH replaces the informal arrangement with a staffed, insured, photographed service — without adding anything to your team's workload.
Base lodge gear desk
Skis, boots, helmets and poles stored so guests can ski unencumbered. Accepts luggage, laptops, car seats and personal items for departure-day and overnight guests. Existing ski valets and lockers have no photo log and no bailee's insurance. TBH has both.
Clubhouse bag room — documented
Every club has a bag room. None insure the clubs held in it. TBH adds the photography, custody record and bailee's liability cover that transforms a tipping-based amenity into a documented service guests can trust with a £2,000 set of irons.
Dockside storage
Charter guests fly in with luggage a 40-foot boat cannot carry. Regatta participants need somewhere for dry gear while they race. Liveaboards need secure shore-side storage between passages. The dock office holds things informally today. TBH makes it a service.
Participant gear check
Youth soccer tournaments, volleyball and basketball complexes, swimming meets, running races, triathlons and cycling events all generate storage demand that venues currently cannot meet. Locker rooms are often reserved for selected teams or unavailable for certain events. TBH fills the gap.
When storage is available
Before the event and throughout. Not just at the gate.
TBH operates across the full event window — from when participants arrive to after the final whistle.
Athletes and teams drop gear before registration, warm-up or the start gun. Storage is open from venue doors — not just at the security gate. Particularly valuable for participants who travel long distances or arrive the evening before.
Teams add or retrieve gear between matches. Individual athletes collect a change of clothes after a swim heat or a trail stage. Storage stays open and staffed for the full event duration — not just drop-off and final collection.
How it works — for your venue
TBH runs the desk. Your team points the way.
From site agreement to event-day operation, TBH handles every element of the concession. Here is what you can expect — and what you don't have to do.
Venue entrance, base lodge, dock, clubhouse, start-line area — TBH identifies the right footprint for your layout and participant flow. No permanent build required.
All desk staff are recruited, trained and managed by TBH. They operate under TBH protocols on event day. Your team has no supervisory responsibility for the concession.
Participants hand over their gear. Each item is photographed, tagged and logged to a digital custody record. A tamper-evident ticket and PIN go to the participant. No app required.
TBH holds bailee's liability insurance for the duration of the event. Your venue is named as an additional insured — you carry no residual exposure for items in TBH's custody.
Participants return, present their PIN, and identity is matched to the intake record before items are released. TBH manages the collection queue and desk close-out.
Commercial model
Participants store for free. Someone else covers TBH.
Athletes and participants never pay at the desk. The service is funded through one of three arrangements — or a combination. Sports organizers already outsource storage infrastructure to outside providers; TBH brings documentation and insurance that those providers don't.
The event organiser or venue pays TBH directly. Storage is included in the participant experience at no extra charge. Suitable for tournaments, race series and venues where participant satisfaction is a commercial priority.
A brand partner sponsors the storage desk — logo placement, participant touchpoint, direct association with the event experience. Common at endurance races and multi-day tournaments where sponsors seek meaningful activation.
TBH storage is offered as an opt-in at registration — online, through RunSignup, RaceRoster or your own platform. Participants who want guaranteed storage pre-pay at sign-up. No cash handling on event day.
Why TBH
How TBH compares to what you have today.
Most venues already handle storage in some form. The question is what that arrangement leaves undone — and who absorbs the consequences. This is what changes when TBH operates the desk.
| What's at stake | Lockers / racks | Bag room / dock office | Volunteer gear check | TBH Sports Storage |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Staffing & oversight | Unattended — no one to call if something's wrong | Staffed by venue employees | Staffed — but untrained and uninsured | Staffed by TBH, operating under our protocols |
| Photo log at intake | None — no record of what was left or its condition | None — verbal or ticket-stub only | None — paper list at best | Every item photographed and timestamped at handover |
| Liability if an item goes missing | Venue absorbs the dispute with no supporting record | Venue absorbs liability — staff took custody | Venue absorbs liability — no documentation to defend against a claim | TBH holds bailee's liability insurance and responds to claims directly |
| Chain-of-custody record | None | None | None | Digital log from intake to release — auditable |
| Release verification | Key or code only — no identity check | Visual recognition or tag match — no PIN | Paper ticket — easily lost or duplicated | Claim ticket + PIN matched to intake record at release |
| Venue named as additional insured | No — venue carries the exposure | No — venue carries the exposure | No — venue carries the exposure | Yes — included on TBH's bailee's policy |
| Operational load on venue | Low — self-service | High — venue staff manage it alongside other duties | High — volunteer coordination, training and oversight needed | Zero — TBH runs the concession end to end |
| Team equipment at flat rate | Not applicable | Not available | Not available | Flat team fee covers the full kit trunk — no per-item counting |
| Scales to high-volume windows | Fixed capacity — queues form | Limited by staff on duty | Can scale — but reliability varies | Staffing planned to volume; multiple intake lanes where needed |
Common questions
What organisers and venues ask us.
Do participants pay anything at the desk?
No. TBH Sports Storage is funded by the organiser, venue, or a sponsor — not by participants at point of use. We offer three commercial arrangements: organiser-funded, sponsor-funded, and registration add-on (where participants opt in and pre-pay at sign-up). In every case, the desk itself operates free at point of use on event day.
Does TBH require any IT integration with our registration platform?
No integration is required to operate the desk. For registration add-on arrangements, TBH can work with RunSignup, RaceRoster, and most standard race-registration platforms to offer storage as an opt-in at sign-up. Participants who pre-book receive a reference used at intake — no separate app needed.
Who staffs the desk?
TBH supplies and manages all desk staff. They operate under TBH protocols and carry TBH credentials. Your team has no management or supervisory responsibility for the concession or its staff.
What happens if an item is lost or damaged?
TBH holds bailee's liability insurance and your venue or event is named as an additional insured. Claims go directly to TBH. The intake photograph and custody log are the basis for any assessment — which is why every item is photographed at check-in. Your organisation is not involved in claims handling.
Can TBH handle high-volume days — tournament mornings, race starts?
Yes. TBH scales staffing to anticipated intake volume. For known high-traffic windows — a race-day start, a tournament morning check-in, a multi-team arrival — we plan staffing and throughput procedures in advance so intake stays fast. The desk can operate multiple intake lanes where space allows.
Can you handle both athlete storage and team equipment in the same deployment?
Yes. TBH can run Athlete Storage and Team Equipment Storage concurrently at the same venue, with separate intake processes and inventory tracking for each. Teams are handled under a flat arrangement; individual participants use the standard claim ticket and PIN flow.
Does this work alongside existing lockers or bag rooms?
Yes. TBH Sports Storage is designed to complement existing venue facilities — not to replace them. Lockers and informal bag rooms continue as they are; TBH adds the documentation and insurance layer that those arrangements cannot provide. The two services serve different participant needs.
